We offer Climate Neutral Certified Products on demand, reducing the carbon footprint of the supply chain including packaging and transport. After independent verification, the logo and claim can be used on the packaging, including private labels of Climate Neutral certified teas.

Renewable Energy

Bogawantalawa Tea is now looking into the feasibility of adopting other means of generating power, while it has already developed many projects for generating renewable energy such as hydro, solar and wind power.

Natural Fertilizer 

Even through we have been gifted with unlimited supply of water, it is our responsibility to utilize this resource wisely. We have already undertaken initiatives to attain this goal by introducing effective methodologies such as Drip Irrigation systems and Rainwater Harvesting systems in some of our estates while conducting continuous Water Management awareness campaigns.

Water Stewardship

Water Management in tea cultivation involves efficient irrigation (drip/sprinkler systems), good drainage, rainwater harvesting, and soil moisture conservation. Monitoring Evapotranspiration, soil moisture, and water quality is crucial. Adaptations like contour-lanting and using drought-resistant varieties help tea plants thrive in varying climates and ensure optimal yield.

Agroforestry 

Bogawantalawa Teas focuses on using resources instead of chemical fertilizer to improve soil quality and microbial activity, including natural composting, site-specific fertilizer, Bio film, Micro soil, Fish fertilizer and Wormy wash.
